Tribute to Emilio Cuevas

The Izaña Atmospheric Research Centre has been renamed in honor of Emilio Cuevas, its driving force and main promoter.

The announcement was made during an event held on 9 July, attended by, among others, the Third Deputy Prime Minister of Spain and the Director of AEMET.

The Governing Board of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), following a proposal from his former colleagues, has approved the new name: Izaña Atmospheric Research Centre – Emilio Cuevas.
