Long-Term Monitoring in Africa: from AMMA to INDAAF

Dr Beatrice Marticorena presents a review of the activities related to long term dust monitoring in West Africa at surface level. AMMA EOP to INDAAF projects have being monitoring dust in the Sahel region, which is significantly affected by severe dust events. The webinar covers many topics: dependence with climate through vegetation, seasonal cycle, dust emissions in the wet and dry seasons, dynamical drivers, deposition and the instrumentation used in such a harsh environament.
